SCHOOL COMMITTEE ELECTIONS
WANGANUI DISTRICT FURTHER REPORTS OF MEETINGS Additional reports of meetings of householders in the Wanganui Education district, held on Monday to elect school commitees, have come to hand. Committees elected hold office for the ensuing two years. At Mosston affiliation with the Wanganui Schools Committees’ Association was discussed, and it was decided to recommend that the incoming committee join up with the association. It was pointed out that many advantages could be obtained by uniformity of action on the part of committees. MOSSTON The meeting at Mosston was presided over by Mr. J. L. Dale. The following committee was elected: Messrs. J. L. Dale, R. D. Rule, D. G. Gray, F. Davis and S. G. Shaw. The committee elected Mr. Dale chairman and Mr. Rule secretary and treasurer. Twelve out of 19 householders attended. It was decided to recommend to the incoming committee that it affiliate with the Wanganui Schools Committees’ Association. M AN G AM AHL The meeting at Mangamahu was presided over by Mr. R. C. Cook. The following committee was elected: Messrs. Charles, A. Campbell, Robert C. Cook, Leslie A. Kellick. Charles G. McLeod, Ernest C. Percival. The committee elected Mr. Cook as
chairman, and Mrs. Campbell as secretary. WAITOTARA Only six householders were present at the meeting at Waitotara, including three committee members. These did not seek re-election, so the meeting was postponed till June 5. ST. JOHN’S HILL The committee elected was: Mr. R. S. Withers (chairman), Mrs. A. McPhail, Messrs. H. E. Tipper, G. Payne, C. M. McLean, J. A. Nicholls, C. E. Campbell. There as an attendance of 18.
