PETROL FOR RUGBY TEAMS
WANGANUI APPLICATIONS 1 LAYERS IN OUTLYING AREAS A circular from the New Zealand Rugby Union came before the Management Committee of the Wanganui i Rugby Union last night, stating that, ias the result of waiting upon the i Transport Department, tne union believes that the Minister of Supply will sympathetically consider any reasonable applications for petrol put before iiim on behalf of Rugby teams. ; “It is expected," the New Zealand I Union has advised, “that seme relief {may be secured provided the applicaI cions made are not unreasonable and | are approved by the Rugby Union concerned and endorsed by the New Zealand Union." The circular stated tnai. applications should concern grounds to winch there is no other foim of transport but petrol-driven veliicles. Mr. E. C. Dailison (Wavcrley) said that his school team would be aifectea, as it came fortnightly to Wanganui by private cars. So far as the Waveriey Club was concerned, he would loon into the position and report to the secretary.
Mr. C. Stewart said that Kauangaroa Junior Club would need son e assistance. It was decided to ask clubs and sub-unions aliected to notify the union and so compile one application to cover all requirements.
