WILLIAMSON’S ICE BALLET

A COLOSSAL PRODUCTION I On Monday night at the Majestic g Theatre and the three following even- ~ ings and on Wednesday afternoon, the 1 ; J. C. Williamson management will pre- ■ , sent the gorgeous musical extravag- ( anza "Switzerland”, Ice Show and Ice j j Ballet, which will introduce to play-i t goers Miss Megan Taylor, the world's ! . champion skater, Eddie Marcel, a not-' ( able comedian, Phil Taylor, greatest ( of all trick skaters, also a world cham- , pion skater and over fifty other im- ; ported skating stars, also several im ; ported vaudeville perfomers frotn t England and America. Most of the j perfomers have been chosen for their - outstanding ability as skaters and not < for their wit or vocal gymnasties. I ■ There is an abundance of girls—all I ] good looking, attractive in face and j figure. While they are on the ice solo, t or in chorus or ballett, their work f grips the interest and imagination as a I triumph for beauty, litheness and de- 1 portment. Those who have tried to \ skate will appreciate the artistry of s the company. We sympathise with « Eddie Marcel when we first meet him. J He lets us down badly, however, when £ he concludes his hilarious performance , t with an unexpected demonstration of v skill with all the ease of a world champion. The MacKinnon sisters are beautiful, both in their skating and physical attraction. Diana Grafton is a hot-rhythm dancer and singer and tap dances expertly on the. ice. “Switzerland” is very fortunate in its t feminine talent, for, in addition to t their qualifications they are the most , attractive group of stage artists ever f to come to this country in one com- s pany. Music, colour, rhythm, effective s lighting, attractive girls, keen humour, -j combine to make "Switzerland” the t the best show in years. The box plans v are at the D.I.C. t B ;
