WANGANUI EMPLOYERS’ ASSOCIATION
MR. T. 0. BISHOP’S LAST VISIT ANNUAL MEETING NEXT MONDAY The secretary of the Wanganui Employers’ Association (Mr. A. J. Weekes) has been advised that Mr. T. i O. Bishop, secretary of the New Zea- • land Employers’ Federation, who is ■ relinquishing that position to become J secretary of the New Zealand Coal- ■ mine Ow'ners’ Association, will attend i the annual meeting of the Wanganui Employers’ Association on Monday I night next. i Mr. H. C. Jenkins is to be the principal speaker at the meeting, and his subject will be “Industrial Relations in Wartime.” Mr. Bishop has often made a point of attending the Wanganui annual meeting, and as this will be his last visit to Wanganui in his official capacity members of the association are intending to be present to farewell him. Mr. Bishop has been secretary of both the New Zealand Employers’ Federation and the New Zealand Coalmine Owners’ Association since their amalgamation in 1922, but it was recently decided that the work involved in the administration of each body had reached the stage where individual secretaryships were required. He became industrial adviser to the Coalmine Owners’ Association in 1921. With the amalgamation of the association and the federation in the following year he took over the dual position, which he has occupied ever since.
