The Germans have ordered the mobilisation of the Danish air raid defence organisation and assumed control of the Press. They have instructed the papers to announce that the occupation was entirely caused by Allied acts and intentions. Danish i and Norwegian journalists in Berlin i have been released. Stocks of bacon are piling up in | Denmark. Meanwhile the Lower I House has decided to buy American [ goods to the value of £2,500,000, the | extent of the American credit. The Danes, although stunned by j the invasion, resumed work to-day | with such a show of normality as to i give yesterday’s excitement a touch of I unreality. Infringement of the black-out re- ; gulations by Danish householders will ; be treated as an act of sabotage I against Germany, punishable by very severe penalties. The Royal Standard is still flying j over Amalienborg Castle. NAZIS ARRIVED WITHOUT FOOD l PILLAGING Received April 12, 5.5 p.m, ! LONDON, April IL It is now revealed that the German troops arrived in Denmark without food, and their pillaging is going on without restraint. The Danes are not allowed to store up more than ‘’our days’ supply of food, while re- , . rictions are being placed on many 1 articles, including petrol. Oil-burning trains have been put off, and no cars ■ are allowed on the streets after 7 p.m.
