OHINGAITI NOTES

SNOOKER TOURNAMENT (Own Correspondent.) OHINGAITI, April 12. The first of a number of snooker tournaments which are to be held during the winter was held on Wednesday night. Some of the games were closely contested. The results were as follow: M. Lumsden beat N. Hammond; W. King lost to Hec. Pritchard; G. Harding lost to J. Whyte; E. Peacock lost to E. Wright; M. Ross beat B. Bowden. Semi-finals: C. Wright lost to H. Lumsden; H. Ross lost to J. Whyte; H. Lumsden beat H. Pritchard; . Final: H. Lumsden lost to J. Whyte. A junior tournament will be held next Wednesday. RED CROSS The competition held by the Red Cross for a box of chocolates was won by Mr. T. McMurchie. FOOTBALL CLUB The Ohingaiti Football Club will hold a practice game with Hunterville at Ohingaiti on Sunday next. All players and intending players are to be on the ground at 2 o’clock sharp.
