At a recent meeting of the Women s ; Institute Federation Committee, members expressed their appreciation of the work of the retiring president, Mrs. J. Shanks. During her term of office, Mrs. Shanks has done a great real of hard and unselfish work, and her sympathetic interest in the different institutes has done much to advance the welfare of country women in this district. Mrs. Shanks will, happily, remain connected with the federation as voluntary organiser, and in this capacity will continue to be a wise counsellor and friend to the institutes. She was the recipient or a small presentation made in recognition of her services by the members of the executive committee.
