MARRIED WOMAN FOUND DEAD IN HER HOME

DISCOVERY BY NEIGHBOUR A married woman, Mrs. k J. B. Ashcroft, aged 45, of 16 Webb Road, Wanganui, was found dcaa in her home yesterday afternoon. A neighbour went to the house in search of tools and he noticed a strong smell of gas. Looking througn a window he saw Mrs. Ashcroft lying on the floor near a gas oven. Dr. A. J. Crawford was called, tried artificial respiration, but without success. Mr. Ashcroft, husband uf the deau woman, had left home for Palmerston North yesterday morning. When he returned in the afternoon ne found the doctor and the neighbour in the house and learned of his wiles death. An inquest was opened yesterday bei fore Mr. S. M. Dixon, J.P., coroner, and adjourned after evidence m identification had been heard.
