• ♦ WANGANUI BOARD SHOWS CONCERN MINISTER’S ATTENTION WANTED “This is another method of marking lime” said Mr. P. Munro, speaking at yesterday's meeting of the Wanganui Education Board, when a letter was read from the Minister of Education, Hon. P. Fraser, regarding a list of urgent works submitted by the board last month. In his reply, Mr. Fraser advised that he would give consideration to the board’s representations. It was stated at the meeting that out of 30 urgent works submitted last k year by the Wanganui Board, only three were given effect to. A member; At that rate it would take 10 years to attend to the existing list, and by that time another 40 schools would require replacement. Mr. E. F. Hemingway (chairman): The Minister is a very busy man but his attention must be called to the requirements of the Wanganui Board. It was in the interests of the children that some of the urgent works be given effect to. A motion that a letter be forwarded to the Minister asking him to go into the matter was passed. Failing a satisfactory reply, the chairman, Mr. Hemingway, and the secretary, Mr. G. N. Boulton, will go to ■ Wellington, to interview Mr. Fraser.
