RANGIWAHIA CENTENNIAL SHOW

EXHIBITION DOG TRIAL (Own Correspondent) The president, Mr. E. G. Billinghurst, presided over an attendance of some 30 members at a meeting of the Rangiwahia Horticultural and Industrial Society. Two of the features of the day’s programme at the Centennial Show on March 13 will be the sheep dog trial demonstration of five dogs working at the same time by Mr. R. Fortune, of Timaru, whose offer was very enthusiastically accepted. This event i will take place at one o'clock. The other feature of the proposed programme is the Centennial parade and cavalcade of agriculture. The secretary, Mr. E. L. B. Pemberton, outlined the parade with indications of the many interesting ancient and modern exhibits which will be available. The time scheduled for this feature is immediately following the dog trial demonstration. A handsome cup has been donated by Mr. W. Watson, of Mangaweka, for a points prize in the cooking j classes, the previous cup being won t outright by Mrs. A. Tompkins. It , was decided that this cup be made a ! perpetual challenge cup, the name of the winner each year to be engraved on the cup and to be held by the winner for that year with an accompanying miniature awarded outright. Many substantial donations have been gratefully accepted and a hearty vote of thanks was passed to the donors. It was decided to allow a merry-go-round and any approved sideshows on the ground. The ladies decided, at a meeting ; held in the afternoon, to take charge of the refreshment booth, all food- ! stuffs being purchased by the society. ; Bramwell's Orchestra has been en- i gaged for the dance following the pic- ' tures.
