A notice gazetted provides for the J substitution of certain parts produced ? in New Zealand, as specified from j time to time by the Minister of Customs for parts ordinarily imported r with unassembled motor-vehicles, t without prejudicing the qualification ’ of the vehicles to entry at preferen- _ tial rates. -> Mr. Nash explained to-day that the t object of the regulation is to allow and p encourage the use of parts made in 5 New Zealand in lieu of parts imported j- with the vehicles. It was the policy 5 of the Government to have New Zea- ] land materials and labour utilised to 7 the maximum in the completion of vehicles in the Dominion.
