ASHHURST CLUB FIXTURE
ANNIVERSARY DAY MEETING POPULAR HOLIDAY RACES One of the most popular holiday race meetings within reach of Wanganui is that provided by the Ash-hurst-Pohangina Racing Club on Anniversary Day, and next Monday’s holiday fixture promises to be well up to the standard set in the past. Ashhurst is only a little more than 50 miles from Wanganui, and with good fields provided in the majority of j events this meeting will provide an I attraction for many racegoers who cannot travel as far afield as Trentham. The single-pool totalisator will be in operation, and popular one-enclo- , sure charges for admission will rule. ' Uniformed members of the Army, Navy and Air Force will be admitted I free. As so many racegoers mske I this a picnic outing, hot water will be i provided free by the club. The first race is to start at 12 noon.
