Provinces in the interior of China have benefited industrially as a result of the conflict with Japan, and wages have risen but have been offset by the higher cost of living. These facts stated by Mr. and Mrs. 0. Metcalfe, Auckland, who have returned after five years in West China with the China Inland Mission.
