ORDER OF ST. JOHN

ANNUAL APPEAL FOR FUNDS HELPING THE FREE AMBULANCE The annual appeal for funds for the St. John Free Ambulance will be held to-day, this year’s campaign being in aid of all branches of the order. The work of the Order of St. John in Wanganui during the past 30 years is well known and recognised by the community. The association and brigade have continued their activities throughout the years without a break with a minimum of cost and with a high degree of efficiency. A great increase in activity has taken place during the past ten years and the scope of the work has been extended. It is anticipated that, notwithstanding the numerous appeals made recently, public appreciation of the ambulance will be shown by a ready response to the appeal. The following collectors have been appointed:— H.B. Corner: Mrs. Biggen, 9.30 to 12 noon.

Rutland Corner: Mrs. Hindley, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Mr. T. Sullivan, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sarney’s Corner: Mr. J. Sheppard, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.; Mrs. E. Merewether, 10 a.m. to 12 noon; Mrs. E. May, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m Post Office Corner: Mrs. W. O. D. Ryall, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.; Mr. J. Read, 10 a.m. to 12 noon; Mr. T.
