WAVERLEY. Mr. and Mrs. Whittington, Marton, were visitors to Waverley and were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. T. Hopkinson, Kohi. The Education Board has approved of sixteen children from the Mangawhio -and Waverley schools visiting the Centennial Exhibition from December 11 to 15. Among the recent aimy changes is the posting of Major P. V. Graves, M.D., of Waverley, to the Second New Zealand Divisional Cavalry Regiment. The death took place at Waverley on Saturday of Mrs. Edwards, at the age of 90 years. The deceased lady was the mother of Mr. C. Edwards, Patea, and grandmother of PilotOfficer Edwards, now a prisoner of war in Germany. The funeral, which was a private one, took place at the Waverley cemetery, the Rev. E. R. E. Ross officiating. MARTON The friends of Mr. Thos. Low, who is at present a patient at the Wellington Hospital through a motor accident. will be pleased to learn that he is progressing very satisfactorily. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Griffin, who are patients at St. Catherine Hospital, Marton, as the result of a motor-car accident, are making steady progress. Mr. Griffin is expected to leave the hospital in a day or two. Dellow, of Utiku, sustained a painful injury to his ribs when he had j a fall while assisting to load wool at I the Mangaweka station. | Mrs. Jennings, of Hawera, has been i visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Dellow, of Utiku.
