MAJESTIC THEATRE
“WOMAN DOCTOR” "Woman Doctor,” which commenced yesterday at the Majestic Theatre, is a fast-moving, poignant story of the many sacrifices forced on a woman surgeon in her sendees to humanity. It is only when she is likely to lose both her husband and daughter that full realisation of the position is brought home to her. The theme is splendidly handled, and is brought to a fitting climax when she is obliged to operate on her daughter while making a hurried trip by aeroplane. Frieda Inescourt, W( ll remembered for her splendid work in “Portia's Tria],” is in a role sple ididiy suited to her talent; her consummate acting is one of the features of a very entertaining film. She is ably asv.-ted by Kerry Wilcoxon, Sybil Jason, Claire Dodd, Cora Witherspoon and Sp sneer Charter is.
“Four Daughters” Healthy and delightful fun, shot with a strong degree of sadness, is found in "Four Daughters,” to commence on Friday at the Majestic Theatre. The four daughters of a musical family, played by Priscilla, Lola and Rosemary Lane and Gale Page, worship their father and one another. Vows are made that marriage will never break the ties that bind them, but such things as love are unpredictable. There are suitors, but none who creates such a stir as handsome young Jeffrey Lynn, who sweeps the youngest daughter off her feet; but he has also tapped the heart of another daughter; indeed, each of the other three. And the youngest one. feeling that one of her sisters would be made unhappy if her mariage went through, makes the sacrifice.
