IMPROVED PHYSIQUE
SPECIAL RESERVE MEN INCREASES IN WEIGHT AND HEIGHT. The physical development of the fifth draft of Special Reservists who have just completed a five months’ course ot training at Trentham Military Camp is the source of favourable comment from Amy medical officer . The average increase in height, for instance, is .32 inches, but some iccruit> have shown no less an increase in height than three-quarters of an inch, due io the careful attention by Armv experts to the correction of faults in posture. Other physical improvements whicn arc largely the result of regular hours systematic training, a oa.anced diet, and the best of medic. 1 care, may be gathered from the increases shown in weight and chest expansion. After five months’ healthy training the average weight of recruits was increased by 7.3 pounds, whilst average chest expansion showed a proportionI ate increase of .704 inches. Recruits in the Special Force will be I subject to the same care and attention, and will no doubt be able to show a similar improvement, in bodily health as the weeks of training go bv.
