A very active co-operator with the National Council of Physical Welfare and Recreation is the Wellington Royal life-saving Society which was particularly active in the learn-to-sv.im campaign last summer. Ordinarily the society’s work is not spec- . tacular. It works quietly and etfec- ; tively in various towns in Wellington | province as well as in the city. Alto- i gether il has issued more / than three ■ thousand certificates for life-saving.
