SUNDAY NIGHT CONCERT

COMBINED SPORTS BODIES AND BAND The best programme of the year i.s said to describe the items arranged for to-morrow night’s (Sunday) concert at the Opera House by the Wanganui Garrison Band and four sports bodies, Cricket, Basketball and Baseball Associations and the Marist Rugby Football Club. Songs in character will be sung by Shirley Smith, and one of the featured items will be a display by the Wanganui Savage Club’s haka parly. Miss Matthews' pupils are to dance a tap ballet, Mr. and Mrs, C. 11. Bensel are to appear in banjo and piano duets and there is to be a dance duo given by Miss Eva Matthews and Mr. George Allen. Mr. Owen Williams, winner of recent competition, will play that deligbtlui euphonium solo, with piano accompaniment, “Pretty Jane,” with variations. Items are to be played by the popular Premier Novelty Band. The Garrison Band, which is playing splendidly at present, has listed among its numbers that every popular piece of the day, “Booms-a-Daisy.” Other items to be given bv the band include “Poet and Peasant” and “Sweethearts.” Trams will be available at conclusion of concert.
