WEST AUSTRALIAN GOLD
FATHER AND SON LUCKY ON SMALL LEASE KALGOORLIE, July 17. A father and son named Carroll, who are working a small lease called "Morley's Find” outside Kalgoorlie, struck a rich patch. Twelve hundredweight of stone yielded 1727 ounces of gold, worth £15,000. The Carrotts last year obtained £ll,000 worth of gold from the same lease. tend at present to establish a legation in Tokio. It is felt that this might be interpreted as a gesture favourable to Ja;un and critical of British policy. The Commonwealth Government, however, will continue its efforts to promote good relations with the other Pacific countries, including the proposals for an exchange of diplomatic representatives with the United States and the setting up of legations in Java and China. The proposal to place an officer with diplomatic status in New Zc?>1 land will also be proceeded with.
