TAIHAPE WEDDING

CO LEM AN—LEA RY On July 12 St. Margaret’s Church, Taihape, was the scene of a very picturesque wedding, when the marriage took place of Noeline Ethel, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Leary, of Pohonui. to William Charles, eld-

est son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Coleman, of Kakatahi, Wanganui. The Rev. Abbott officiated and Mrs. Hayes ; iayed the wedding music. A choir of the junior members of the W.D.F.U. assisted. The churcch was prettily decorated with bowls of berries and green foliage by friends of the bride, a large silver wedding bell being suspended over the bridal pair. Escorted by her father, the bride made an attractive figure in a gown of pearl tinted satin cut on classical lines and slightly trained. The bodice featured a hoart-spaped neckline and the sleeves were long and closeiitting. Her embroidered tulle veil was held by an attractive coronet of orange blossoms. A single string of pearls and a bouquet of Chrismas lilies, irises, maidenhair and asparagus fern completed the ensemble. The bride was attended by Misses Nina Leary and Grace Coleman. Their frocks were of mounted georgette over taffeta, Miss Leary’s being of Margaret Rose pink and Miss Coleman's of leaf green. Both maids wore daintily embroidered tulle veils held by topknots of georgette flowers to tone with their frocks, plaited girdles of pink and green, silver shoes, and carried bouquets of chrysanthemums, freezias and asparagus. Little Joan Thurston, as flower girl, wore tourquoise blue georgette trimmed with a velvet sash, a coronet of silver and carried a basket of autumn-tinted flowers. Mr. Dick Coleman and Mr. Norman Leary attended the bridegroom as best man and groomsman respectively. The ushers were Messrs. H. and A. Leary. The bride was presented with satin and floral horseshoes by Little Joan Thurston and Shirley McKinnon. When the bride and groom left the church they walked through a guard of honour formed by the Koeke branch of the Junior Division of the Farmers’ Union of which the bride was a member. The reception was held at the Town Hall supper rooms to receive the guests and Mrs. Leary was wearing a navy blue and white model frock with toning veiled hat and held a bouquet of autumn tinted flowers. She was assisted by Mrs. Coleman, mother of the bridegroom, who wore a prunella ensemble and hat and carried a bouquet of purple heather. The bouquets carried by Mrs. Leary and Mrs. Coleman were made by Mrs. T. C. Revell. The tables were attractively arranged with Iceland poppies and green foliage. The three-tiered wedding cake, which had been beautifully iced and decorated in silver, was made b.\ Mrs. J. Newton.
