MRS. H. J. OLIVER. I I A pioneer of 74 years’ residence if the Dominion passed away on Thursday in Mrs. Hannah Jane Olive:, f Bourke Street. Palmerston North, » the age of 80 years. She came fro' England in the Astirope, and lan# at Wellington. Mr. Oliver arrM about the same time and later the. were married and lived in Wanganfor a number of years. However, after a short ;eriod in Australia, threturned to Wanganui and sub» e * quent.ly came on to Palmerston North, in 1900. Mr. Oliver P r< * deceased his wife 10 years ago. Mrs. Oliver did not take an act < part in any public organisation b ' Jt was devoted to her home and well liked among the many friend she had made in a period of 39 yea-* in the city. Mrs. Oliver was a friend of M a J von Tempsky, who was a officer at the time of the Maori and had hi.s headquarters at Wang’’ nui, and she also knew the veterf Sergeant-Major Bczar, a very o i sident of Wellington, who died time ago.
