TAIHAPE COUNTRY BEATEN MATCH ON THE RACECOURSE Playing with great dash in the forwards, Pirate's beat Taihape Country on the Racecourse. Kicking played an important part in the match, A. Duncan (Pirates) and H. Marshall (Taihape) both proving fairly good at it. A. G. Davidson played an outstanding game in the black pack, scoring two tries. S. Lee also scored a try. The rest of Pirates’ 22 points came

from the boot of Arthur Duncan. He kicked three penalty goals and converted two tries, making 13 points in all. H. Marshall scored the whole of Taihape's eight points. He scored a try himself and converted it. Later he kicked a penalty goal. All of Taihape's points were scored in the second half.
