SOCIAL SECURITY

MATERNITY BENEFITS ALL WANGANUI HOMES HAVE MADE CONTRACT'S. All the maternity homes in Wanganui have signed contracts to fulfil the services required of them under the provisions of the Social Security Act. Those not listed when the original list was published last Saturday will enjoy the benefits as from today. No Wanganui doctors have yet made contracts, and, according to information received from the city branch of the British Medical Association, are not likely to. There is a difference, however, between the requirements under the Act of homes and nurses and the obligations asked for from doctors. The homes merely render service and obtain the benefits under the Act more or less automatically.
