Friday’s closing prices for the following raw materials were as follows, those for May 5-being shown in parentheses:— Cotton: Liverpool quotation, good, American, middling, spot, 5.33 d a ib (4.80>; June delivery, 4.82 d a lb. (4.66 d Rubber: Para, 71d a lb. (same); plantation smoked ribbed sheet, 7 3132d a lb. (7 15-16 d). Jute: May-June shipment, Indian jute, Dundee quotation, £2B a ton (£29 3s 9d). Copra: May-June shipment, sundried South Sea, to London or Rotterdam, £lO 10s a ton (£lO ss); smoked, to Marseilles or Genoa, £lO 5s :: ton (£10); plantation, Rabaul to London or Rotterdam,£ll 5s a ton (£11). Linseed oil: £27 15s a ton (£27). Turpentine: 34s a cwt. (355).
