WAVERLEY HAPPENINGS
WANGANUI-EGMONT HUNT CLUB (Own Correspondent.) WAVERLEY, April 26. The weather held line on Monday afternoon, when the Wanganui-Eg-mont Hunt Club met for their second hunt of the season on Mr. N. W. Parsons property, “Pukenoe” sandhills, Waitotara. Owing to a strong southerly wind the scent was very difficult to follow and little country was covered in the early part of the afternoon. Hares were rasied several times, only to double back towards the river, where they took cover in the nigger-heado. Another hare was found, giving quite a long run and resulting in a kili Much jumping was enjoyed by the followers over excellently prepared country. After the meet members and friends were entertained by Mr. N. W. Parsons. Riders present were: - Deputy-master T. Lupton on Serviette, Huntsman C. G. Ingles on Flent, Whip J. Agnew on Tui. Mesdames A. J. Alexander on Slinter, J. Lieth on Valeta. Misses A. Graham on Rajah, J. McGregor on Ginger, P. Gray on Sergeant Murphy, R. Wy bourne on Cream-o’-Tarta and Flower Bag, A. Loftus on Rawhiti, M. Alexander on Lady Briar, N. Blake (Opotiki) on Ellsworth, E. Lupton on Creamy.
