THE CENTRAL EXECLTTIVE MR. J. A. LEE ELECTED TO VACANCY. [Per Press AauOc’ation. j WELLINGTON, April 26. Mr. J. A. Lee, M.P., has been elected to a seat on the central executive of the New Zealand Labour Party. The national secretary of the party, Mr. Wilson. M.L.C., announced this evening that the election held at the recent annual conference of the party had resulted in the re-election of last year’s central executive, with the exception that Mr. P. M. Butler had not accepted nomination, Mr. Lee having been elected to the vacant position. There were 45 candidates for five seats and the voting in some instances was very close.
