PIPIRIKI MEETING.
The singing of the Ode to Friendship opened the second meeting of the recently-formed Maori and Pakeha Institute. Pipiriki. Mrs. Wright presided and was assisted by Mrs. Templeton. It was decided to send Mrs. Young and Miss Paora as delegates to the annual council meeting of the Ruapehu Federation to be held at Talhape at the end of the month. Many useful hints on the use of lemons were given by Mesdames Wright, Templeton and Young. The competition, "Kopaepae" (plaited flax) was judged by Mrs. Mackenzie, the winners being Mesdames Taki Teua, Anderson and Gray. Miss Paora gave a resume of the talk at the Raetihi meeting held to discuss a suitable centennial memorial —a rest room being decided upon. A vote of thanks was passed to Miss Paora by the president. Mrs. Tahi Teua and Miss Hikuroa were welcomed as new members. The hostesses were Mrs. Dury and Miss Paora. The singing of the National Anthem brought a most enjoyable afternoon to a close.
