NATIONAL PARTY LEADER
VISIT TO HUNTERVILLE WELCOME FROM SVPPORTERS (Special to “Chronicle.”) HUNTERVILLE, April 26. The Hon. Adam Hamilton, Leader of the Opposition, was a visitor to Hunterville to-day, when he was extended a rousing reception from members of the National Political Party from all parts of the district. Mr. Hamilton was entertained at a social gathering in the Scots Hall this afternoon, at which there was an attendance of more than 350 members of the party. Mr. Grant Simpson, president of the Hunterville branch of the National Party, presided and associated with him on the dais were Mr. E. B. Gordon, M.P. for Rangitikei, and Mr. T. Barton, president, of the Rangitikei branch. When Mr. Hamilton entered the hall he was greeted with musical honours and lusty cheering, several minutes elapsing before the applause and cheering subsided. Mr. Hamilton addressed the meeting on the future aims and objects of the party. VISIT TO MARTON MITE OF CONFIDENCE. MARTON. April 26. The Hon. Adam Hamilton was also accorded a rousing reception when hrspoke to members of the Rangitikei branch of the National Party at Marton to-night. Mr. T. Barton, president of the branch, presided and he and Mr. E. B. Gordon, M.P. for Rangitikei, extended a welcome to Mr. Hamilton. Hr. Hamilton, who spoke to the gathering for an hour and threequarters, congratulated members ol the Rangitikei branch who had worked with success for the party al the last elections. He also expressed his dcelight at the warmth of the reception and the large attendance. At the conclusion of his address. Mr. Hamilton was given an ovation and accorded a hearty vote of thanks and confidence as leader of the National Party.
