DOG TRIALS

MANGAMAHU CLUB RECORD ENTRIES RECEIVED. The Mangamahu Sheep Dog Trial Club's annual trials were opened yesterday morning with record entries. The whole of the day was devoted to the head, ring and yard event and six more competitors will have to be put through their paces this morning. Twenty-eight entries were received for the event and a high standard of performance was registered. The judge of the various competitions is Mr. G. Ferguson, of Mangawcka. The trials will be continued to-day and to-morrow. There was a large crowd at the opening day but the attendances are expected to be much greater to-day and to-morrow.
