Because of the prevalence of influj enza workers at Borthwick’s freezing I works at Belfast ceased work at 10.20 i a.m. on Monday. I It was stated that the decision 1o stop work had been made largely be,cause there is no provision in the ’ Workers’ Compensation Act for I workers off duty otherwise than be- ! cause of accidents. Another factor, !it was stated, was that some of the I most competent men on the chains I were absent because oi illness and I those who remained were finding difficulty in keeping up with the work.
