STANLEY McKAY’S GAIETIES
Bright entertainment was provided at the Town Hali, Taihape. last evening by the Stanley McKay Gaieties, who presented a bright revue "Life Begins at 8,” which gave unlimited scope to the comedians, singers, dancers. and acrobats. The dressing, staging and lighting were outstanding features of the entertainment. Stan Foley, the clever and versatile Australian comedian, starred in several hilarious sketches, including "At Your Senice.’’ "Getting Into Bother,” "A Night on the Thames Embankment," and "The Island Tragedy." Additional comedy was provided by Alec McKinnon, the dancing Scotsman, who had the leading roles in "The New Game" and "Come Into the Garden, Maude." Those delightful song scenes. "Paris in the Spring” and "The Masquerade,’ were interpreted by Stella Collier, assisted by the "Gaieties” heauty ballet. Outstanding specially were offerings contributed by Scotty and Dolly. Australia’s premier dancing duo; Stella Lamond, brilliant personality girl; Snowy Towers, mimic of screen stars; Nellie Kolle, famous male impersonator; the San Remos Bros., matchless hand balancers; Pekoe, Souchon and Congo, crazy acrobatic clowns; Jerry Keogh, acrobatic dancer; Max Reddy, light comedian; and George Hurd, international royal command juggling star, acknowledged successor to the famous Paul Cinquivalli. The will give their final performance to-night (Tuesday).
