CANADIAN POLITICS

NEW PARTY FORMED MR, W. D. HERRIDGE AS LEADER. OTTAWA, March 2. Mr. W. D. Herridge, brother-in-law of the former Prime Minister, Mr. R. B. Bepnett, and former Canadian Minister at Washington, and a prominent Conservative, announces that he is launching a new political party to be called the New Economics Party. He declares that both the old parties have failed to solve unemployment and the refunding of the debt. Reports that the new party would be allied with the Social Credit Party were silenced by a statement by Mr. Herridge that he will seek election first and decide his monetary policy later.
