WEATHER FORECAST
Meteorological Office, Wellington, Sunday, March 5, 3 p.m. General Situation.—Pressure remains over New Zealand, but a shallow depression is advancing across the Takman Sea and a deeper one is centred off the South Queensland coast. Forecast.—Winds: North-east northerly, light to moderate, with a freshening change to southerlies advancing over the South Island to-night and to-morrow morning. Seas (New Zealand waters): Slight to moderate, rising north of East Cape and later in Cook Strait. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong north-easterly winds, turning southerly later in the southern portion. Seas rather rough to rough. Weather: Fair to fine first, but with increasing cloud, later some showers or drizzling rain probable in the far northern and southern districts and extending along the east coast. Temperatures warm to hot but cooler later in the south.
