ROYAL AIR FORCE
DOMINION APPOINTMENTS AGE LIMIT RAISED With the Air Department announcement to-day that the age limit of candidates for short service commissions in the Royal Air Force has been raised from 25 to 28 years, many young men in the Dominion who were previously ineligible for appointment will now be able to apply, with the prospect of proceeding direct to England for flying training.
It is explained by the authorities that candidates who have actually had their twenty-eighth birthday are still ineligible for appointment, and that no alteration has been made in the standard of education required. Candidates must have passed either the matriculation or the school certificate examination, or be able to produce a certificate from a recognised educational authority that they have reached that standard, especially in English, mathematics and physics. No i previous flying experience, however, is necessary. On the completion of the active service period, return passages and substantial gratuities are payable.
An advertisement inviting applications for appointment to short service commissions in the Royal Air Force appears in to-day’s advertising columns.
