SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT
ISSUE OF CERTIFICATES WANGANUI BOARD’S AREA Five new certificates were issued by the Wanganui Education Board during 1938 to schools for excellence of environment Owhango, Rata-itt, Turangarere, Waitohi and Westmere. Fourteen schools were written letters of commendation—Alton, Durie Hill, Greatford, Horopito (committee), Kaitieke, Kakatahi, Kakaramea, Longburn, Mangatepopo, Omatane, Otamakapua, Raurimu, Rongo-iti and Taumatatahi. The awards also included endorsement of certificates issued to certain schools in 1936 and 1937 —Aramoho, Ashhurst, Awahou North, Beaconsfield, Bell’s Junction, Bulls, Bunnythorpe, Castlecliff, Cheltenham, College St., Dunolly, Fitzherbert East, Foxton, Glen Oroua, Hihitahi, Hokowhitu, Hunterville, Intermediate (Wanganui), Kairanga, Kakariki, Keith St., Kiwitea, Kohi, Kopane, Linton, Lytton St., Makakahi Road, Manchester St., Mangaweka, Mangawhio, Manunui, Manutahi, Marohema, Marton D.H.S., Marton Junction, Milson, Mosston, Mt. View, Ngamatea, Ngaturi, Ngutuwera, Ohakea, Ohingaiti, Okoia, Orangimea, Orangipongo, Orautoha, Oroua Downs, Owhakura, Pakihikura, Palmerston North Central, Parewanui, Patea, Piriaka, Pohangina, Putorino, Raetihi, Rangiwahia, Rapanui, Raumai, Rewa, Rongotea, Ruahine, Russell St., Sanson, St. John's Hill, Taihape, Taikorea, Taonui, Tawhero, Terrace End, Tiakitahuna, Tokorangi, Tunanui Road, Turakina, Umutoi, Umumuri, Utiku, Waimarino, Waituna West, Wanganui East.
