Dominion’s Racecourses. According to Mr. C. S. Coll, secretary to the Minister of Health and Home Affairs, Queensland, who has comoleted a month’s holiday visit to the Dominion. New Zealand’s racecourses are of a higher general average than those of Australia. Mr. Coll said that he took a keen interest in racing, and had visited the principal courses in Australia and New Zealand. "I consider the Trentham course better than anything we have in Australia,” he said. "This anplies to the general appointments and surroundings, but principally to the stands. The ramp is one of the finest ideas I have seen, and it puts Trentham in a more up-to-date r lass than Flemington or Caulfield.” Mr. Coll said that he had also been impressed by the modern appointments and gardens at Ellerslie.
