WHISKY STOLEN

SIX CASES TAKEN CRIME AT ROTORUA. ROTORUA, Jan. 4. Six cases of whisky . were stolen from the warehouse of P. R. McGill, Limited, between Monday evening and this morning, the loss suffered by the firm being estimated at about £5O. The discovery was made this morning, when it was found that a private draw in a safe which had been left open had been forced, books and papers being left scattered about the floor. Further investigation showed that the front door of the premises had been forced with a jemmy and six cases of whisky removed from the storeroom. The theft was a particularly daring one, as the premises are only a few yards from the main shopping area. It is thought that the cases of whisky were stacked inside the front door and then quickly transferred to a waiting car or truck.
