MAN FINDS STEPSON DEAD AND WIFE INJURED WOMAN DIES LATER [ Per Press Association.] ROTORUA, Jan. 5. A shocking discovery was made by Arthur Lane, a Public Works carpenter. when he returned to his home in Ti Street, to discover his wife, Mrs. Gladys Lane, aged about 40, lying unconscious on a bed with a deep gash in her throat, while near her, with a cord tightly woqnd round his throat, was the dead body of his stepson, Lewis Cottington, aged nine. The husband immediately summoned doctors and the police and Mrs. Lane was removed to the Rotorua Hospital, where she died early this evening. The Lanes arrived in Rotor«a from Wellington in September.
