The Misses V. and P. Riddiford have returned to Christchurch after a visit to Marton. Mrj. E. P. Willis, Christchurch, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hatherly, St. John’s Hill. Mrs. Carr, Gisborne, who has been visiting Wellington, is now at Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. J. Peat, Whangarei, visited friends at Wanganui on their way home from Christchurch. Miss L. Cook is a Wanganui visitor to Wellington. * * ♦ * Miss K. Armstrong, Willis Street, has left on a visit to Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. A. Burrows, of Masterton, are visiting Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Fookes, of New Flymouth, were visitors to Wanganui yesterday. » » * • Miss Mavis Cook, of Nelson, is visiting Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Cook, Mangamahu. * * * ¥ Mrs. G. E. Cutfield, Grey Street, has returned after a Christmas vacation at New Plymouth. Mrs. Baden Anderson, of Otaki, is visiting Wanganui. * • • • Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Couch, who have been the guests of Mrs. J. F. Redpath, Wanganui East, have returned to New Plymouth. Mrs. A. D. Donald, Wanganui, is visiting Pahiatua. Mr. and Mrs. K. A. Wilson, Wanganui, are visiting Wellington. Mrs. Aylmer Vivian, of Christchurch, is visiting Wanganui as the guest of Mrs. H. L. Widdowson. Mrs. Rutherford and Miss Joan Rutherford, Christchurch, are on u visit to Wanganui. Mr., Mrs. and Master Bland, of Wellington, were the guests of Mi. and Mrs. R. C. Cook, Mangamahu, fox the Christmas vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Rod Syme, of Hawera, were in Wanganui yesterday for the tennis tournament. Mrs. G. Lupton, of Waverley, and her guest, Miss Phyllis Taylor, of Wanganui, have left on a camping tour to Taupo. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Hargrave and small daughter, of Wellington, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bailey Martin, St. John’s Hill. Mrs. M. Shaw, Invercargill, is visit-, ing Wanganui, and is staying with her daughter, Mrs. D. M. Brown, Gonville. Miss Betty Wilkie, of Wanganui, left on Monday for a fortnight’s tour of Hawke’s Bay, Waikaremoana, and Bay of Plenty districts. Misses Beatrice and Ella Fawcett, Masterton, are visiting Wanganui and attended the Holden—Hodgson wedding at Marton. Mr. and Mrs. R. Robiliiard, Christchurch, who have been the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Scoular, Durie Hill, for the New Year holidays, have left for Wellington. Miss Grace Palotta, the Viennese actress, who was in Australia and New Zealand many years ago with the Hugh Ward Musical Comedy Company, will visit Sydney early in the new year. Admiral and Mrs. F. A. Sommcrville, Portsmouth, England, who resided for several years in Wellington some time ago when the Admiral was connected with the New Zealand Navy Office, will arrive at Auckland by the Rimutaka, which is due on January 12. They are on a holiday trip to the Dominion.
