OPPOSITION TO FUSION LEADER OF PRIVY COUNCIL LIKELY TO BE PREMIER [By Telegraph—Pres® Association —Copyright) Received Jan. 4, 6.50 p.m. TOKIO, Jan. 4. Prince Konoye, Prime Minister, has tendered his Government's resignation. The resignation was due-to the Home Minister, Mr. Suetsugus, demanding a fusion of all political groups into a single National Party, which Japan's two major parties, the Minseito and the Seiyukai, strongly opposed. Prince Konoye’s likeliest successor is the 73-year-old Baron Hiranuma, President of the Privy Council.
