Miss McKenny entered the Wellit ton Public Hospital in 1898 as a pi bationer. She served at Wellingt as theatre sister, ward sister i home sister, eventually reaching l position of assistant-matron. In 1! she was appointed matron of 1 Wanganui Hospital. In 1917 Miss .V Kenny saw service for a short ti on board a hospital ship. After years' service in Wanganui, Miss J Kenny resigned, in the hope that i could do more for the benefit of i sick than if she had remained matt at Wanganui. She was president the New Zealand Hospital Matra Council and represented New Zeals in two important conferences America in 1929. During her sen in Wanganui many nurses trait under her for responsible positk which they hold to-day. DR. ALICE W. Woodward, M.A., of Cambridge, i Mrs. Woodward, who will be happ remembered by former pupils of Or hunga and Mangere Bridge put schools. Dr. Woodward-Horsley gradual from the Otago Medical School 1900, being the third woman in b' ! Zealand to take the degree M.8.Ch.8. She has practised ever since Auckland and is at present an hot ary anaesthetist to the Auckland H pital and to the Mater Misericord ® Hospital.
