APPEAL TO MOTORISTS
■ROAD SAFETY AT HOLIDAY TIME URGE BY THE MAYOR OF WANGANUI. “The recent Road Safety Week demonstration held in Wanganui and throughout the Dominion must have impressed on everyone the importance of and the necessity for the strict observance of the rules of the road and for careful driving by all users of motor vehicles,” states the Mayor of Wanganui, Mr. W. J. Rogers, in an appeal to motorists to observe full care during the holidays. “During the holiday season the streets and highways of this country will be thronged with travellers, and I would appeal to all to exercise the utmost care and to observe the rules, thereby minimising the risk of accident. Carelessness and non-obser-vance of the rules of the road have in the past resulted in so many fatalities and injuries to motorists and pedestrians. It is the duty of everyone to exercise the utmost care, and thereby aid the Minister of Transport in his campaign to make the highways of this country free from accident.”
