FARMERS DISAPPOINTED
MOM. IN SASKATCHEWAN Received Oct. 26, 5.5 p.m. OTTAWA, Oct. 25. The move by Saska tc?te wan farmers for the secession of the Prairie Provinces is disappointing Us sponsors. Manitoba and Alberta are opposed to the proposal, while British Columbia is lethargic. The Premier of Ontario (Mr. M. F. Hepburn) declares that the province is at breakin./ point regarding concessions to the west. The country in general is paying the 30,000.600 dollars’ loss through the guaranteed w/ieat price to benefit western farmers, the east paying most. That movement was based chiefly on alleged farm implement tariff discrimination and the failure of the Government to peg wheat at a dollar instead of 80 cents.
