AMBULANCE NOTES. (By “Splints.”) The last parade which was a uniform one was well attended, and a good hour’s work was done with stretchers and practice injuries. Members should remember that the annual inspection is to be held towards the end of next month approximately the twenty-eighth, and until then all members should endeavour to put in some hard drill, and so try and prove the “crack” division for the year. From all reports every one is anxiously looking forward to the social evening for the ladies’ auxiliary about November 10 and we hear a rumour that the nurses are going to help us in the ambulance division, by presenting several items. Speaking of the nurses, reminds me, we would welcome any notes of interest to the public or the nurses. Paragraphs should be left with the ambulance secretary or superinten-, dent. They will be forwarded on tO| “Splints.” Two of our members (we will not divulge their names) attended a lecture the other afternoon. They report a splendid reception, but "John” ate too much afternoon tea. As the Lady Superintendent is at present out of town, the nurses are receiving several lectures on first aid from our superintendent and several members are in attendance to demonstrate bandaging. Personal. One of the ambulance “old timers,” Henry Lambert, recently visited Marton and renewed acquaintances. Cyril Bartram is at present working ■ in Auckland with the N.Z.R. I “Little Eric” is on transfer from the local railway staff to New Ply- | mouth, where he intends to join up 1 with the New Plymouth Division. | Several members took advantage of| the long week-end and journeyed to beaches, etc. We hear “Mac” went caravaning with pounds of sausages.
