Miss Verona Hunger, Wellington was home for the week-end. Mrs. F. W. Hamel has returnee from Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Hilliar are visit ing Palmerston North. Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Pauling hav< returned from Wellington. Miss Meta Mawhinney was home for the week-end. Miss I. Mouri has returned frorr visiting her mother, Mrs. F. Mouri Manaia. Mr. and Mrs. Spence, Shannon, an guests of Mr. and Mrs. S. Priest. Mr. Brian Walton, Wellington, wa* home for the week-end. Mr. Ben Usher has been holidayin' with his parents in Wellington. Mr. E. Barnes, of H.M.S. Achilles was home for the week-end. Mr. F. Mairs, postmaster, is awaj on annual leave. Master T. Quickenden established ; new record for the intermediate shot putting with 33ft. 2in. at St. Patrick’; College Labour Day sports. He alst gained third place in the 220 yards in termediate handicap and third plao in the broad jump with 16ft. sin. R. Craig. Patea, won the Taranak professional road race round Mt. Eg mont on Saturday. GOLF R. Mcßae defeated E. Oakley 9 ant 8 over 36 holes in the intermediat< championship during the week-em and in the final of the Black am White Cup R. Mcßae defeated S. Ed wards at the 19th hole.
