OHINGAITI W.D.F.U.

The Ohingaiti branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union held a meeting in Ohingaiti Memorial Hall on Tuesday last. Mrs. N. Miller presided over a large attendance of members and many visitors from neighbouring branches included presidents of Mangaweka (Mrs. T. Pairman), Rangiwahia (Mrs. A. Price) and Hunterville (Mrs. P. Weston) branches. After routine business was fin-_ ished the afternoon took the form of a social and birthday party to celebrate the 13th birthday of the branch. The programme consisted of a pianoforte solo by Miss E. Weston, song by Mrs. S. Lowry, song by Mrs. N. Miller, and Irish jig by Betty Mclntyre, all of which were very much enjoyed by those present. An amusing competition was won by Mrs. T. Stewart. The flower competition, a bowl of spring bulbs, was also won by Mrs. T. Stewart, with Mrs. Lowry second. The birthday cake, which was very lovely, was made and donated by the president, Mrs. N. Miller, who called on all the past presidents to help with the cutting of the cake. All the visitors joined in wishing Ohingaiti branch many happy returns of the day. A sumptuous afternoon tea and the singing of the National Anthem brought a very happy afternoon to a close. Mrs. Trevena presided at the piano.
