THE CONCLUDING DAY IJNCOLN STEEPLECHASE EEVIEW OF PROSPECTS The Lincoln Steeplechase will be the principal event at Riccarton today, when the Canterbury Jockey Club’s Grand National meeting will be concluded, but in addition there will be the Sydenham Hurdles, in which some of the Grand National Hurdles contestants are engaged. The Heathcote and Selwyn Handicaps will find many of the Winter Cup and Islington Handicap horses in action again. Form on the first two days of the meeting will no doubt prove a reliable guide for investors, anti the following may be in request when the totalisator bells stop ringing:— Aylesbury Steeplechase. Strip was the only both-way favourite to score during the first day of the C.J.C. meeting at Riccarton. Clarion Call was win favourite in the Grand National, and Wild Talk was place favourite in the Cashmere Plate. Cock o’ the North was put up foi auction one day last week in Dunedin and he was sold for £lB. He suffered an injury to a shoulder at the Riverton meeting and has not made the recovery that was expected. Twelve months ago he won the Hunt Club Cup Steeplechase at the Christchurca Hunt Club’s meeting.
