BLOMFIELD WINS

MEEHAN INJURED BY OCTOPUS CLAMP WRESTLING AT CHRISTCHURCH [ Per Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 11. Lofty Blomfleld to-night beat Pal Meehan in the last round of a professional wrestling match when the referee held that Meehan was too injured to continue. Before that Meehan had taken one fall with a body press after dumps, and elbow jolts and Blomfleld had also taken one with an octopus clamp. Meehan appeared hurt when he was finally disentangled from the clamp and, when the last round began* seemed in bad shape but he protested vehemently when the referee stopped the bout, claiming he was both willing and able to go on.
