SPLENDID BOXING
AITKEN BEATS GILDO T Per Press Association.] PALMERSTON N., Aug. 11. Fighting to his own plan, Billy Aitken, of Wellington, beat Young Gildo, of Honolulu, on points in a twelveround contest staged by the Manawatu Boxing Association to-night. The boxers were applauded as they left the ring. Gildo early indicated that he wanted a punching match, but Aitken was content to pick him off with short-arm punches as he came in ana to let Gildo take what points he coulJ in close. It was a splendid bout which pleased a very good house.
